Hello ladies and gentlemen. So i'm brand new to this forum and would like to ask some of your more expert opinions on what you think I should do. I would still describe myself as a beginner-earlyintermediate photographer. I shoot recreationally, mainly on my travels with my GF and occasionally just at home if i'm posting a picture of my food or something.

Anyway so the purpose of this question is this. I bought a Nikon 16-80mm lens when I was sort of starting out under the impression that an expensive lens = a great lens. While it is a fantastic lens particularly for landscapes, I had bought a 35mm f1.8 and i was in the process of selling it and decided to give it one last shot and my gosh I was blown aback. The lens is just spectacular.

So now I'm in this position where I really want to buy an 85mm lens, but I dont want to lose the landscape shots I can get with a wider lens. I occasionally shoot some videos too, but nothing professional.

So my question is this: I could sell my 16-80mm, and with that money buy a 85mm f1.8 + a wide angle lens like the Nikon 12-24mm f4 or the Tokina f2.8 or the new Nikon 10-20.

That way my arsenal would be Wide angle, 35mm prime + 85mm prime. Or do you guys just think that I should buy the 85mm prime and stick to my current 16-80mm for wide angle? I mean I get solid results from it for landscapes and it's a great lens for that, but I just feel like I could get even more from a wide angle?

Please tell me what you think.
