Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 17 December 2017, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style—just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. The editing exercises are taking a break at the moment, but feel free to play around in the old exercises.

Leaving work this afternoon I thought I'd stop and launch the Mavic to get a shot of my workplace. I am not entirely thrilled with this camera for stills. Does a decent job for video, but the stills are a bit muddy and lack detail. This is a 9 image stitched panorama of the biggest Aluminium smelter in the Southern Hemisphere.

As I wrote in my "I've got a new toy" thread, this was a challenge...

gallery_1251_683_219103.jpg

Model: NIKON D300
Lens (mm): 270 (Sigma 150-600 Sports)
ISO: 1000
Aperture: 11
Shutter: 1/2
Picture Control: D2X Mode2

Nobody can accuse the D300 of being the king of darkness, not even 10 years ago. The DR is a bit on the low side even at ISO 1000, but it worked better than I thought it would. I would probably have got quite a different result with the D700, but my goal was to push the limits a bit with the D300 instead of doing something comfortable with the D700.

More motorcycles for me this week.  This time with models!  :)

D810, Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8 @ 70mm, f/4, 1/400", ISO 64, natural light, cropped pretty severely from a photo showing two bikes

Modeling service provided by my granddaughter. Still not sure what I owe her but I expect it will be pricey...  ;)

Her dad is the bike builder.

I took a morning trip around the Phoenix Zoo.  Always love taking photos of the big birds.  This Golden Eagle was keeping a watchful eye on me.

Fall colors in Arizona.  This windmill is in the town of Show Low, D750, Nikon 24-70 2,8, 1/800 @ f.8, iso 200

Abstractly speaking, an abstract abstraction.

As best I can guess, this is a symbol used by Native American Indians.  The markings are, I believe of  tribal identifiers.

Thanks for viewing.

Great images last week! I'm glad you all are out there being creative. I need a kick in the butt apparently because I hardly ever get my camera out these days unless I'm commissioned to.

I actually have one to share for this week--surprise! We did community Santa portraits with our green screen again this year. No screaming kids this time around, which was a disappointment. I get such a kick out of those...heh. This kid was cute though--he just wanted to snuggle with Santa.

D810, Nikkor 24–70, f/5, 1/125, ISO 500. 50-inch softbox camera right as key and smaller softbox camera left as fill (both angled toward center). Two continuous lights behind the set on the green screen.
