I don't know anything about cameras, but my fiance loves photography. But I need something that can capture videos at 4k since my girlfriend has a YouTube channel. My question is there a difference with cameras between the two offers on Amazon and eBay? Any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated

Both are the D500, except the eBay listing comes with a bunch of (cheap) kit lenses whereas the Amazon listing comes with a "prosumer" 16-80mm. If you're looking for a camera solely for video, though, it might be a good idea to get a mirrorless camera though, or a dedicated camcorder.

You would be better off looking at a Panasonic or Sony mirrorless if you want both good video and good stills. If stills aren't *that* important, a camcorder and a good compact might be a better solution. If the stills are what's important and Youtube is the only output channel for your videos, a D500 might work, but Nikon's video implementation lags far behind Canon, Panasonic and Sony.

If your looking at that price range i would go for the Panasonic GH5, the D500 is a fantastic camera but you would be paying for loads of stuff you would never use and missing out on video ability.

The right choice really depends on how it will be used - certainly there are better options than the D500 if video is the most important piece.  Similarly, there are better options than the D500 depending on the type of photography and the experience of the user.  The D500 is an amazing camera.  I have been able to rent one to use for a few different events and it worked quite well...well enough that I just ordered one to give me a body with the DX sensor.  It is capable of pro-level use...it may be overkill for the still photography you want to do or, perhaps it isn't enough...we'd need more detail to help choose the right model...but, for still photography, I don't think you can go wrong with the D500...more trying to find the best choice vs. a choice!

I really appreciate everyone's input. I will look into mirrorless cameras but prefer to stay with Cannon or Nikon. It seems those two brands have the most kinds of accessories or add-ons.

Interesting that you say that. I find Nikon and Canon to be the most proprietary (Nikon is the worst of the bunch), especially compared to the open standards of M43 systems by Oly and Panasonic. These systems will adapt ANY lenses and focus peaking on mirrorless actually makes it possible to actually achieve manual focus.
