Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 26 November 2017, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style—just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. The editing exercises are taking a break at the moment, but feel free to play around in the old exercises.

P.P.S. Peter is running a fun single lens challenge that we are all invited to participate in. Look for the "One week, one camera, one lens" challenge.

Hi! I’m new to this forum! I love seeing all the past posts! Here is a picture I took a few days ago. It was with D750 and Tamron 70-200 G2ee9d773a0812c9a65518a3977c567718.jpg

Heatherlynn1008, welcome to the forums! I'm so glad you're here and participating in our little "Your Best..." thread. This is such a lovely photo--the light on the little girl is just wonderful. She stands out beautifully against the background, and I have to say, I love your processing. I also have the Tamron 70-200--I have a real love-hate relationship with it. Looks like you're doing great work with it though. :)

Ah, Bill--what a cute face! She looks quite spunky. Gotta love that natural light too--it really shows the detail and provides nice catchlights in her eyes. They add such life to any portrait. Was your lens a 24-70? I was just noticing your aperture setting and feeling impressed because it's hard to get both the nose and the eyes in focus on dogs when you're shooting wide open. Really nice work!

Nicole; I was shooting with the 70-200m.  It was first thing in the morning and I just let this little one out of her crate and she was being crazy.  I left the ISO at 1000 so I could get faster shutter speed and when she stopped and looked at me (finally) I grabbed this shot.  This dog doesn't belong to us, we were "dog sitting" and she was filling my early morning with "Cuteness".

Things are going to be kind of hectic at my house this week, so I'm posting early.  If I happen to get something I like better later on in the week, I'll post that, too.  :)

I spent quite a bit of time photographing my son's latest custom bike over the past few days.  This one from yesterday is my favorite of the bunch so far.

i-D7fc7rR-XL.jpg

Nikon D810, AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G @ f/2, 1/320", ISO 64

Godox V860ii speedlight positioned to the right of the bike (bottom of the frame) at 1/4 power.

Late afternoon sun provided the light from the top of the frame.

Model: NIKON D700
Lens (mm): 105 (Nikkor 105/2.5 Ai)
ISO: 4500
Aperture: 5.6
Shutter: 1/100

What makes this my best for this week is that I managed to catch the reflection of the river water in the window panes.

Well, it appears as though I slept through the month of August this year.  Many photos went non uploaded.  I am pleased that they did not take offense and run away.  :))

Taken with Canon EOS Rebel t5 body and Canon EF-S 55~250mm IS, II Lens.

1/250s, F/8, ISO 200, Focal Length 210mm, no flash and used Creative Program Mode with Multi-Segment Metering.

Thanks for viewing.

Again, phone photos from me...Last week, we celebrated Thanksgiving here in the US.  Two years ago, we were down in Florida for Thanksgiving and our niece's wedding later that weekend.  It turned out that was the first time that either of us had spent a family Thanksgiving at a restaurant.  All the family was in town for the wedding, so it was a big celebration!

This year we decided to create a mini version of that and enjoy a long weekend with our boys down on the water.  We even decided to go out to one of the local restaurants that does a Thanksgiving buffet.

Before we headed to the restaurant, I grabbed a photo of our younger son with his dog...

Xylie has been with him for just under a year, but she was his birthday present last year once she was old enough to come home.  Speaking of birthdays, 22 years ago, he was born very early on Thanksgiving morning...well, more late at night rather than early in the morning...This year, his birthday again fell on Thanksgiving so once we got to the restaurant, he and his brother toasted his birthday:

It was a wonderful dinner and we got to see a beautiful sunset before we headed back to the house...

I promise some "real" photos for this week!

Tis the season to be hectic and late. We got our tree last weekend. I finally got some shots uploaded to the computer to share.

Taken with the D200 w/  DX 55-200 VR When I got this lens the VR wasn't working Playing with it ,it now seems to work most of the time.

I may take some time and actually edit some of the shots.
