Charging - green light blinks slowly for a minute - then rapidly for a while - then stops.
Battery indicator shows very small charge.

Two things spring to mind, battery failure or charging system in the camera, a possible third but unlikely is a fault in the cable.
The good news is batteries and chargers are cheap from the link below.i have used these batteries in many different cameras including Nikon,Olympus,Panasonic and Samsung.
