Hi. I recently bought my first Nikon, a Coolpix A900. I spent a great deal of time researching, comparing etc. and felt that this model was a good fit for my budget and requirements. Sorry to say, it has so far been the most frustrating thing I have ever owned, including vehicles, computers, etc.! I'm generally happy with the photos I've managed to take but, believe me, it's an incredibly difficult thing to take the simplest shot. The camera seems to have to repeatedly go through a list of checks, accompanied with beeps and flashing green rectangles, flashing red symbol in the lower left hand corner, etc. before even thinking about taking the shot, no matter what setting I use, and eight out of ten times it downright refuses to do so! If and when it does decide to take the shot, so often the moment has passed - the bird has flown away or my patience has simply been exhausted and during the interval between pressing the shutter and the shot being taken, I move and there's camera shake. Incredibly frustrating, to say the least!
There is much about this camera that I really like, which makes it worse! Am I missing something or is this a problem with this model?
