I'm pretty happy with what I have, but always interested in what others are using, and how they use it.

If I see someone with a camera when I am out and about, I usually check out their gear and setup. I may have a measure of admiration for their gear/equipment, but I am generally not wishing that I had their any of their gear/equipment.
Well, unless they are toting around a Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 ED VR-II AF-S. (That is really the only lens currently on my wish list). I am pretty happy with my modest equipment setup right now.

To be honest, I always look...kind of like looking at women I guess just can't help mysef...doesn't mean I am going to run out and grab it, but I enjoy seeing what gear they are using. My friend is a pro and has multiple D4s and multiple of just about every piece of gear that I would really like to have if money wasn't an object...I always point out that just makes me work smarter and harder...maybe someday...

It's all very well having big equipment, but what if you can't handle it? The other day I met someone with a D3 who was scared to go past ISO 800.

Yep...I've met them too! I just dive in and try things so I continue to learn. I've shot at 25600 - don't like to, but I know what to expect if I have to. That's one of the nice things about photography - lots of different ways to reach a similar end point. Even then, the end point that I like may not be the one that others will like best...

As long as I’m happy with what I got, I don’t pay too much attention to what others are using.

Lies, that's not possible I think it's just hardwired to us that thinks of the cameras not as 100% mere tools.

Yeah I'm always checking out what others are using. First I check their camera strap to see if it's Canon or Nikon. If it's Canon I just walk away in disgust Seriously though, I always like to go up and have a chat. See what they have and what they're doing. Always nice talking to another enthusiast.

Pentax, Sony, Olympus, Samsung, Fuji, Panasonic: I love them all, but budgets do dictate picking a team or two. There are a lot of great cameras out there, and I will admit, begrudgingly, that Canon does have some great glass.
