Hi -

I did do a search on this but could not find anything, There are a lot of third party batteries out there saying that they fit D50/70/70s but also 80/90/100/200/300/700. I have questioned a couple of the sellers and they say they have been redesigned to fit both. I can't see it myself. Has anyone had any experience with these. Original batteries for the earlier cameras are hard to come by and they have generally had a lot of use. Genuine new ones are expensive and no guarantees they will be any good as they are all old now. Any thoughts out there?

I've never had one that claims to fit all those cameras, but I've used a few 3rd party ones over the years without problems. I would usually use the "real" one and the others were a backup.

As long as you have the newer charger for them, en-el3e batteries work in the bodies made for the en-el3. The new battery has more electronics inside to keep track of the battery health when used with newer bodies but the form factor and the contacts are unchanged.
