Hi everyone. I am brand new to photography with anything other than a basic camera. I recently purchased a Nikon D3400 kit that came with an 18-55mm and 70-300mm lens. Also in the package were additional wide angle and 2x telephoto lenses. Both the wide angle and telephoto additions fit on the 18-55mm lens with no problem but the diameter of the lenses seem to be less than that of the 70-300mm lens and so I cannot use them with my 70-300mm lens. I really would like to and I am wondering if there is some sort of an adapter/ring that I can purchase to make them fit. The specs from the description are:

Nikon D3400

AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR

AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED

Pro .43 Wide Angle Lens with Macro

Pro 2x Telephoto Lens Converter

I am not financially set to buy any additional lenses at this point but would definitely like to know if there is a ring/adapter I can purchase for a reasonable price so I can use the telephoto lens converter with my 70-300mm lens.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm not sure what add on lenses came with your 'kit' but, in my opinion, they're probably not the panacea you think they are. Worst case... they may even degrade the image.

The wide angle/macro is probably going to be the most useful and only when used with your 18-55. And then, only for macro. The telephoto adapter was probably also designed to work with the 18-55 and at best only duplicates the reach you have with your 70-300.

With the two Nikon lenses you have, you should be pretty well equipped to handle most photographic situations that come your way. As you progress, you may want to add additional lenses, but they will be the type that bayonets onto your camera rather than screw into the front.

Those adapter things are usually not good at all and are probably meant to be used with some kind of bridge camera where you can't change the lens.

Start shooting with the lenses you have and learn how they work while you save for more equipment. There are some lens accessories that make sense, but the two you have aren't among them.

To make close-ups, close-up lenses like these work well enough until you find that you need a dedicated macro lens.

Another useful filter is the polarizer. A 58 mm will fit your tele zoom and if you get a 55-58 mm step-up ring it can be used on your normal zoom as well.
