My combination for this week will be the D700 and AF Nikkor 50/1.8D, again, as I only got out two days last week.

If anyone else wants to shoot any single lens with me for a week, feel free to post what you get in this thread.

I'll shoot with normal primes this month, but you can use whatever you want.

Peter, I will use my D750 and new 24-70, if that ok.  this will afford me the time to get to know this lens.

Why not? The meaning of this exercise is to get out, shoot and show the rest of us. It isn't necessary to use a different lens every week even if I often do so.

I will start off with my initial shooting with this lens.  All pics shot at the Wild Horse Pass Resort Golf Club.  It seems I am into reflections lately.  It's just that we have so little water that is not mud brown so I get giddy when I see clean and clear water.

D750, nikon 24-70 f2.8 lens all pics in M mode, iso 100

1) 1/160 @ f9.0, 24mm

2) 1/100 @ f9.0, 60mm

3) 1/100 @ f6.3, 31mm

4) 1/100 @ f6.3, 32mm

Second set.  Chinese Cultural Center, Phoenix.  This building was recently sold, the new owner wants to tear down the exterior and replace with what he thinks is a new modern look. Some groups are in an uproar as they want to keep the exterior the same, reflecting Chinese heritage.  This building is a beautiful example of Chinese culture and design.  While I have eaten here a few times, this is the first time I have photographed it.

1) Lion, at entrance, intricate detail on stone. M, 1/400 @ f13, iso 400, 44mm

2) Budda, this statue is inside one of the restaurants (which is closed). S, 1/160 @ f2.8, spot, iso 400, 56mm

3) East entrance. M, 1/640 @ f9.6, spot, iso 400, 24mm, 24mm

4) Main entrance, M, 1/1000 @ f1.0, spot, iso 400, 24mm.

5) Main entrance-2, M,1/2000 @ f16, spot, iso 400, 42mm

6) East entrance as seen from across street, M, 1/2250 @ f16, spot, iso 400, 24mm.

7) Statues along east entrance, The east side of the building is surrounded by statues. M, 1/1000 @ f10, spot, iso 400, 58mm

Well, I haven't gotten out much this week for obvious reasons ha! We fled to my hometown in Huntsville, Texas. Photo below is of Sam Houston's law office. For those not familiar, Sam was general of the Texas Army, president of the Republic of Texas, a senator after we became a state, and later governor. Most of the mortar in this building and a good bit in the chimney that you can see a little of was put in by moi in the early 1980's during a restoration of some of the buildings. Great summer job for a high school student. I'm surprised how well it's held up.

This post will contain the photos for the whole week as I have avoided editing on the computer since I hurt my elbow last Saturday. The overstressed tendon is all right now, and here are the photos.

The flower is some kind of cultivated helianthus but thanks anyway, Dean.
