I am going to Hawaii in November and trying to figure out what type of belt system would be best to use on excursions. Please help...

What lenses do you want to bring?

Tamrac lens holsters are generally Molle-compatible, Lowepro use their own, wider system. Most of the smaller manufacturers use the Molle standard.

Is a belt system your best choice? Sometimes a good shoulder-bag is easier to use and less conspicuous. If you want to go that way, a Domke or a Billingham will put less sideload on your back and shoulders than stiffer bags.

I'm in no position to argue technical expertise with Peter. But I have a ThinkTank Retrospective 7 shoulder bag and I love it. So do lots of others. Actually chose it over a Domke. Worth a look if you decide to go with a shoulder bag. They come in different sizes so you can find one that suits what you want to carry.

The Retrospective series are flexible enough to shape themselves to your back when in use instead of hanging off your hip like a "normal" camera bag. They work similar to a Billingham Hadley. What I don't like about them is the velcro fasteners. The Billingham leather straps are silent.

See, I like the Velcro. I'm going to know if someone tries to open my bag! I use the silencers if I'm out shooting wildlife. You can also set them so just a little bit of Velcro is in contact.
