Please confirm that using a DX lens on a DX body will give angle of view as stated, whereas an FX lens will introduce a crop factor magnification..
And then using an FX body the FX lens will give angle of view as stated, whereas a DX lens will introduce a crop factor magnification all be it at the cost of 'wasting pixels' on the bigger sensor

Not quite, a DX lens gives the same field of view on both FX and DX, except on FX only part of the sensor will be used.
A FX lens will give you a wider field of view on FX and a narrower field of view on DX, but the entire sensor is used on both bodies.
It is thus perfectly fine to use a FX lens on DX, but using a DX lens on FX may not always be desirable.
