Hi there

I'm looking to upgrade from a D3100 to....

At first I was looking at a D7000 but for the money it doesn't seem much of an upgrade
So now I have been looking at the D5500 which seems a more substantial upgrade

Just wondered what anyone's views were..and if there will be any compatibility issues with lenses

Many thanks

Phil

Phil,

What is it that is causing you to want to upgrade?  Is the D3100 not able to handle some shooting that you would like to do?  I ask because that might point you in the right direction if your potential new camera body needed some specific capability.  If you are looking to upgrade because you want something with newer or different features, then that also gives you something to look for.

What types of photos do you normally take?  Again, the type / style of photography that you mainly shoot might help determine your best choice for a new body.
