Tony, do you use a tripod for your floral work, or are you shooting mostly handheld?  I'm just curious because I noticed you were shooting at 1/80--I usually can't shoot below 1/125 because it's hard for me to get things sharp. You don't seem to have a problem though!

This is a lovely image, by the way--I seem to be drawn to your natural light images. :)

Hi Nicole.  The two Canon lenses that I have are with IS Image Stabilization and it does a wonderful job.  It just freezes the motion and thereby practically eliminates the need for a tripod.  So to answer fully, yes I do shoot the Canon handheld for floral work, however for product work, I use a tripod and do not need to turn off the IS.  Now with my Pentax gear, I do use the SR or Shake Reduction which is built into the camera body.  At times when I choose to use a tripod, I must turn off the SR.  Thanks very much for your comment.  Adios, Tony

With my Sony a6000 I can shoot at around 1/80 hand held, but not with my d750, I would need a tripod for the same settings.
