I was assigned to work "booth duty" at a conference in St. Louis earlier this week.  The conference and my hotel were downtown and within easy walking distance of the Gateway Arch park.  I spent most of my off hours out with the camera.

1. This was taken in a plaza across the street from the hotel:

5. Lots of artwork all around the city.  This one was titled "Big Suit":

Oh man, Mark, you did St. Louis some real justice! These are some excellent images--you've got a creative eye. You outdid me, that's for sure. Love your nighttime shot--did you feel pretty safe running around with your gear at night? And it's interesting to see how much of a difference in lens compression there is between the 24mm and 50mm on that Lewis and Clark shot. We were probably standing in roughly the same place but ended up with different compositions. Now I'm wishing I had engaged with St. Louis a bit more--you really ended up with some great images! Nice work!!

Thanks Nicole! I was never out past 10 pm and the streets were still busy with tourists. And I didn't have to take my gear out of my backpack at airport security, either. All in all it was a good trip.

Here's a few more I decided to add to the keeper list.  Not particularly artistic, but I like them.

1. View of a baseball game at Busch Stadium from the rooftop restaurant of the hotel:

2. More street art:

3. Moon inside the arch.  Kind of abstract:

4. Infinity.  I wish it weren't so blurry, but the more I look at it the more I like it anyway:
