Hi

I might be being stupid but no matter what settings i change on my D7100 i cannot get it to record video. I flick to the video switch and live view mode and press the record button and nothing happens. I have hard reset numerous times.

I'm having the same problem with my D810. I used Video mode 2 1/2 years ago for about 5 minutes. Now when I need it, the Video doesn't work. I think it's a firmware issue and not a mechanical problem... but who knows. One would expect an expensive camera to last much longer than this. Personally I think Nikon knows what the the problem is but has decided not to recall the buggy models. I have serious doubts whether I'll upgrade to the D820 if I can't expect better support than this. Oh well, let's look at Canon again.

IMHO, if you desire an OEM that still builds high quality gear and updates them regularly with improvements and additions look no further than Fujifilm.
