Hi All!

I am new to the forum and DSLRs in general. I am buying a camera in the next few days and am lost on which to chose. The two identified above seem to be good entry level according to my research.

I will be mainly shooting wildlife (birds in flight, birds perching, coyotes, etc), landscapes and cityscapes. I have read that for wildlife photography a high 'focus number' is needed? The 3400 has 11 focus points and the 5600 has 39. Is this true? Any advice or suggestions anyone has would be great!! Thanks!

Go for the 5600. If you need something cheaper, go for the 3300 as the 3400 is pretty crippled by comparison.

I concur with Scott's advice. Go with the D5600.

Just got a 5600 for a light travel camera..my 7000 is a little big. The 5600 makes very good images and is a dream to carry. Trying to use it to shoot 1080P/30 video to an external monitor...will see how it works. Its' wireless "Snapbridge" transfer is very nice, but a little wonky to get working initially. The 18-140mm VR Kit is a very nice travel combination.
