Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 13 August 2017, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style—just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. The editing exercises are taking a break for the summer, but feel free to play around in the old exercises.

P.P.S. Peter is running a fun single lens challenge that we are all invited to participate in. August is normal prime lens month!

Wow.  Saturday morning and no submissions yet.  I didn't get out much this week and am traveling this weekend, so I'll go with this one for best of the week.  Tuesday's sunset at a local park:

Lovely sunset, Mark--the ducks really make that shot for me! The color is gorgeous, but the ducks really make it a strong composition. Nice!

Peter, I'm so intrigued by your impressionist flowers. So lovely, and the red looks fantastic too. What a creative image!

Bill, great captures. I especially like your first one where you can the bird's eye. Also, I'm immediately jealous of your Nikkor 70-200. I have the Tamron version and can't quite seem to get the crispness that you have managed with your Nikkor. Nice work.

Tony, that is truly lovely--I could definitely see it on a calendar or as wall art. The colors are gorgeous. You seem to be shooting more and more with your Pentax and Canon--have you given up on the Nikon? No problem if you have—I'm just curious. You're getting fantastic results.

I think I have only one silly shot I'm able to share from this weekend, and it's still on my camera while I am at work. It's probably not worth sharing, but since I took it, I might as well, so perhaps tonight I'll find a few moments to slap it up here.

Hi Nicole,

Thanks so much for your positive comment.  Yes, I have divested myself from Nikon gear, mainly because I grew weary with having to tip toe around the D70's limitations i,e, Limited Dynamic Range and its inability to handle certain colors.  Also, since having to endure five back surgeries, I had no choice but to go with lighter weight and more recent technology with Pentax and Canon.  However, my door is always open to Nikon.  ::))  Thanks so much, you are the best.
