I have a much-used and well-loved D200. Its achilles heel is the rubber which surrounds the body section below the command dial and on/off switch; for years it has come adrift. I've tried every type of glue I know of to re-fix it but none work. Apparently this is a common problem so does anyone here have an answer to this? Desperation is setting in!

@Stas, I'm aware of degreasing before applying adhesive which is what I did but the problem seems to be finding an adhesive which bonds rubber to metal. I've since found a forum on flickr which recommends either No More Nails or Pliobond. I think the latter is a US product but No More Nails is available over here. Thanks for your response.

Just found a recomendation to use double sided tape. As they said under Rubber pads there is screws and if you will use glue you should to rend Rubber pads to get to this screws. Tape don't have such problem and in the same time you can rend it if you need.
I not sure that we wright understood each other. I mean not degreasing before applying adhesive. I mean than Rubber pads after some time become bigger. This happends because of absorbtion of oil from your fingers. Just try to put Rubber pads on theire place. Does it set normal or it is bigger than you need and sticks out somewhere?

The rubber has expanded slightly over the years but not excessively and yes, I have tried double sided tape - unfortunately it hasn't worked. I've cleaned away all the original glue and any further adhesive I later added. I'll try No More Nails adhesive tomorrow and report back. Thanks again.

@Stas, I used a UK brand of high-grab adhesive - Geocel The Works Ultra Grab Adhesive. This seems to have worked but time will tell.

@Stas - I wish I'd known about that. I'll buy some anyway and thanks for the link.
