Hi everyone,
new to the forum, so hoping someone can offer constructive advice.
I've just bought a used Nikon 14-24 2.8 lens. It is the second used lens of this type I have bought recently. On both lenses, the zoom ring wasn't totally smooth. On the lens I have just bought, there is friction when zooming from around 16mm. I'd probably describe it as "notchy'.
This was exactly the same with the previous lens I bought, but I returned that one because the zoom ring wasn't smooth either - in fact it was almost identical to the one I have just purchased.
Can any owners of the 14-24 advise if this is normal and that you would expect some resistance, or should the zoom ring be totally smooth?
Thanks in advance,
Peter
