I'm selling my Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 and when a potential buyer tried it out on their Nikon D3400 the screen said it wasn't compatible. Why is this? I use it on full frame SLRs. Is that the problem? I want to sell this lens but need to know what it's compatible with.

Which version of the lens do you have?
If it's this one:
https://www.amazon.c...l/dp/B00066EK40
Then that uses AF-D, which doesn't work with the D3xxx and D5xxx series. The newer AF-S version of the lens should work just fine.
