Hello I got a D7000 a month ago and the focus has been very incosistent. Are there tips on how to improve the focus by selecting a particular focus mode (AF-S, AF-C) or focus area (single, 9-pt, 21-pt and etc)?

I asked a similar questions in the Beginner's section of this forum and had a good reply with a link to the following document. Good and fairly short read. Helped me to understand the system better. Hope that helps you as well. Here's the link: http://www.pixelfine...F_Explained.pdf

The Nikon D7000 (or at least mine) had an issue with typically back focusing. I used the AF Fine Tune from the Nikon D7000's menu system and did a fine tuning to -14 (it turned out that all of my lenses need about the same correction). The video posted above will give you some wonderful info. The way my camera focuses now is AMAZING!!!
