The 2017 American Motorcycle Association (AMA) Vintage Motorcycle Days was held July 7-9 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course near Mansfield, OH.  The event includes all forms of racing that AMA sponsors.  I got photos from several events.

Great set, Mark! Nice panning on the one you titled "concentration"--the movement is well conveyed. Looks like a fun way to spend a day. :)

Is that Stan Lee in photo no. 2 with the "45"?

Very nice set, indeed!

Nicole - thanks! It was a fun weekend but we were pretty burned out on motorcycles by Sunday. I came home with 1700+ photos. Panning definitely takes practice, especially at 600mm.

Malice - I see a resemblance, but that would probably disappear when he takes off the helmet. Pretty sure it wasn't Stan. :) He was riding in the 60+ class. All riders were 60 years old or older. A couple of guys in their 70s were out there.

Do you use a tripod with your 150-600? I have the Tamron version of that lens, and I really can't get a decent shot handheld. Not tough enough, I guess! I hardly ever use it anyway...should probably remedy that.

I thought about getting a monopod for this trip but didn't have the money for a good one so decided to wait until I do. Until then all 150-600 shots are handheld. Mine is the 2nd generation Tamron, too. From what I've read it's one of the lightest options for that focal length.

Those are awesome. Now I have an itch to get to the track. Wish we had flat track here. Meet Lawill was my hero when I was a kid, loved watching it. Thanks for the memories.
