Hello I bought my D500 since May, I use it for portrait and event documentary. Somehow I didn't realize the AF Light Assist illuminator didn't works in low light place until yesterday.
And I can't seem to find the setting for this like in my D7000 does (at a7 menu autofocus)
I've searched it anywhere on the menu and can't find it..

I know it must be in single autofocus mode and focus point on the center to make AF Assist to light up the object in low light situations, but it didn't work??

Thank you for your help

I've not ever once had a need for it. The D500 is that good at focusing in the dark.

Well that explains things.

If the light is that bad you should probably be using flash anyway. Which does (usually) have an AF assist light.

You need to have the camera on Single Servo Mode for AF Light assist to work
