Greetings all. I am a new owner of a Nikon D3400. I have always loved photography and excited to finally get a good camera. I am trying to learn as much as I can before a trip to Iceland in September. Looking forward to reading your posts.

Welcome to the forums!

Don't miss the mini-challenges subforum as you browse the site. I think that Nicole's Your best... threads is one of the  better inspirational resources for the new photographer on the 'net as the content is so varied and we all share how the photos were made. My One week... threads can serve as an incentive to go out and shoot. The idea is to get out and get more familiar with your camera and lens by using them and develop an eye so that you can visualize the capture even before you raise the camera to your eye. Sharing what you see where you live on a day-to-day basis is a bonus.

Welcome, welcome! Lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks around here--let us know if you have questions as you get to know your new  camera. I hope you'll stick around and share some of what you are doing with it. Enjoy!
