Hello folks, I am wondering why the viewing screen on my Coolpix P520 has gone all black and fuzzy/blurred around the edges.  Has anyone else encountered this problem and is it repairable please?

Many thanks.

Kind of sounds like it was dropped...whether it was dropped or is just "going bad" it should be repairable.  The bigger question is how much the repair will cost and once you know that, are you better off repairing or getting a new camera.  Not a question if you are still under warranty but some of the Coolpix cameras can be cheaper to replace than repair.  Good luck and let us know what you find!

Hi Sportz Guy, Thank you for your input. The camera has never been dropped or banged in any way.  I will make the necessary enquiry about a repair but, if it is too expensive I can live with it until it goes altogether.  Unfortunately the warranty ran out a couple of months ago.

Thanks again.

If the warranty has just run out, I think I would give Nikon a call, describe the problem, tell them the camera is just outside of warranty, and see what they say.

No harm is asking. They may surprise you.
