I was watching a you tube video of FoCal and the camera being used was a D800. The guy mentioned pressing the "hot key". What is the hot key? The software sound exactly what I need.
I have the D7100.

I use this software. Not sure what they mean about hot key? Can you post the youtube video?

Here is, I believe, the video that HiFi is referring to. The "hot key" appears to be the Focus On button on the back of the camera.

Does look to be the AF button. I've never done that. I just select "continue" in the software. But you must be able to just press that button and it continues to run the next lot of tests?

After looking at the video again... I'm thinking it might be the AE/AF lock button rather than the AF On button. I don't have a camera with a dedicated AF On button but I believe it's on the right side of the AE/AF button. Also, if the software required that you press the AF On button that would eliminate a lot of cameras from using FoCal.

The software itself looks interesting. I'm wondering how it compares to other methods of focus calibration.

Yes, that's the video. Sorry, I should have included the link in my original post. After some more thought, it doesn't really matter if I have to click on the laptop instead of the camera. It sounds like the software would be easier and more accurate than the usual focus chart on an incline method.
