Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 18 June 2017, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style—just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. The editing exercises are taking a break for the summer, but feel free to play around in the old exercises.

P.P.S. Peter is running a fun single lens challenge that we are all invited to participate in.

Some sunrise photos this morning, Wed.

I used my Sony mirrorless Model 6000, 16-50 lens.  I carry this camera with me when I go on my morning walks as it fits easily in a pocket.

1) Neighbor cactus, flower, each bloom only last one, maybe two days, 1/160 @ f5.6, iso 200, 39 mm, flash (not light out yet).

2) Same cactus, shot two days ago, 1/500 @ f6.3, iso 200, 31mm at 30 min after sunrise

3) Sunrise behind tree, 1/360 @ f9, iso 100, 50mm.

4) Same tree with b/w treatment, 1/160 @f9.0, iso 100, 50 mm

Lovely images! I wouldn't even know which one to pick as a favorite, though I think I am leaning toward the tree in color.

I like that camera a lot--when my sister was asking what camera to buy, I pointed her to the Sony a6000. She ended up buying it and really likes it. She doesn't have quite your eye or experience, but she does get good results with it. We're going to try some Milky Way photography with it later this summer just to see what it can do.

Looks like it's a slow week!

Some heirloom tomatoes caught my eye for this week's still life.

This is my best this week, by a hair...

Model: NIKON D300
Lens (mm): 24 (AF-S Nikkor 24/1.8)
ISO: 220
Aperture: 6.3
Shutter: 1/160
Exp. Comp.: +0.3

Monochrome conversion in SEP with a blue filter, HP5 emulation, medium selenium toning and a slightly off-white base.

These blooming algae with the sun stars on the rippling water come a close second.

This one isn't converted to monochrome. It just is *that* black and white anyway.

Got lots of photos this week, but most are from family events.  I think I'll go with this one for the forum.  Office building in downtown Nashville, Tennessee:
