Hi can anybody help i am changing from a pentax to a nikon and was thinking of getting a Adapter so i can use my pentax lenses on the nikon has anybody used one and do they work thanks

Not really feasible without ruining the image quality, unfortunately. You'd need an adapter with a corrective element, which would act as a teleconverter.

In the late 1960s a major international wire service took photos at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA with a 500mm Pentax lens and the Nikon F. The adapter was custom-made by a technician. Non-autofocus, of course. The combination made for some great photos. The f4 lens was very high quality.

You can get different third party adapters if you want to use your Pentax lenses on the Nikon F-mount.
Having some old lenses (for different systems) I have tried some.
As Adam mentioned, get one with a corrective lens element, but the picture quality will suffer in any case.
Also the adapters typically do not allow for the electric contacts, meaning that the lens(es) can only be used in manual mode.
