Can some of you tell me what apps does the expensive photo processing apps have that ViewNX2 and LightZone don't ? I just want to decide what I need for putting images of my painting on my website and to have note-cards printed.
Thanks

Easy perspective restitution, support for ICC profiles, support for colorcheckers and the possibility of precisely controlling tone curves come to mind as relevant for these two usages. One nice feature to have is softproofing, where you can load an ICC profile for the printer to be used and see the approximate result on screen without having to do test prints. I am not sure how Lightzone handles lens corrections and CA correction, but most of the commercial software have extensive lens libraries.
All lenses have some distortion and this can usually be corrected in post, either by entering the model of the lens and getting the data from a database or by correcting it manually and saving the correction curve for later use. The same goes for vignetting.
