For those that have these lenses... what is the rotation in degrees of the focus ring from stop to stop? And just how well damped are they?
Considering one for manual focus pulling in video and wondering if one has more range and smoother damping than the other.

The 35 is 120°, the 50 is 90°. They are nowhere near the Ai and Ai-S lenses when it comes to focusing feel, but neither is bad compared to other modern AF-S lenses.
The AF-S 50/1.4 is much better for this application than either of the low-cost options with a more precise manual focus ring and 190° rotation, but it isn't a cheap lens unless you compare it to the 58.

The 50/1.8 Ai is very precise and smooth to focus because of the 210 degree focus throw. It is probably the easiest non-cine Nikkor to film with.
