I'm in the market for a full frame and at first I was thinking that I would only buy new but after scanning Kijiji there appears to be some very good deals on the cameras I'm considering.

Some of the ads are advertising low shutter count, which is what I'd want. How can you substantiate that. In the cameras I've owned I don't remember if there was an easy way to prove shutter count.

And #2 question it seems there are a lot of ads on kijiji for Nikon D610's and D750's as well as other cameras that are brand new in box 0 shutter count, etc. They are selling at a pretty steep discount from retail.

Why would anyone sell a brand new camera at discount. I'm pretty sure at Henry's and best buy you can return up to 30 days for full refund. Do you think this is suspicious or legit?

Camera Shutter Count you can check shutter count here, or they can.

Yeah I just found that site a couple days ago. I wonder how awkward it would be to make the guy prove it as I don't take his word for it. lol

I don't know about the site you mentioned but ... rule of thumb... if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

That said... and assuming Nikon has some new camera bodies on deck and ready to roll out, it's possible that some recent cameras will see some sharp reductions in price soon.

If I were in the market for a new camera body (and had to have it now) I'd still buy from a reputable dealer such as B&H or Adorama.

I'm not familiar with the used equipment dealer you mentioned, but KEH and Roberts Camera are very reliable for used equipment.  I have gotten great gear from both of them for good prices.

I bought a low shutter count D610 from eBay a couple of years back. Cheap but not ludicrously cheap and it was exactly what it said it was - effectively new. Still got it and it's brilliant.
