Is there a tutorial here (or somewhere) that shows how to use ND-X?  I know it's not rated as very good but I'm just going to give raw a try and I don't even know how to save a raw image to a jpeg.   ;)

The interface is awful, but the raw conversions are top-notch.

There is a microsite on the Nikon site. http://imaging.nikon...ite/capturenxd/ This might work to get you started.

If you search for Capture NX-D tutorial, I am sure you can find something out on the net.

If you use save, the software will just save a sidecar with your settings for the conversion, you need to use export to save as tif or jpg. There are many such quirks that can trip you up in the user interface.

Thanks, Merco.  I think I asked the wrong question.  I was trying to figure out what to do with the Picture Control Utility 2 software that comes with the download of NX-D.  FYI there is a manual on the Nikon site for NX-D - I also downloaded that manual but I got the Pic Ctl Utility 2 with it and I can't fumble my way into figuring out how to use it or what to do with it.  Thanks again.
