I guess I'm an "old guy", ha ha. My first Nikon was an S2 I purchased in Japan in 1955, courtesy of the U.S. Navy. I had 4 extra lenses as well but later sold it to get cash to buy my first car, wish I still had it. I shot 8 mm for a number of years with a Bolex P1, great movie camera but when my first
son was born in 1970 I wanted another 35mm SLR for photo's. I purchased
a new FTn
with the 85mm f1.8 lens, and later added several more, all Ai's or Ai's.
I used that camera until my son graduated from high school and I gave it all to him and purchased a new Nikon F3. I have 16 of the old manual lenses
as I picked them up inexpensively over the years and when film cameras
became white elephants I got into a new D300 which I still have and love.
All my old manual lenses work perfectly with it and I use them often but I have the 18 to 200 mm auto that I purchased with the D300. I still have
the Bolex 8mm and the FTn and the F3, all in excellent operating condition
and if anybody is interested in any of those items let me know. I got "wordy"
I'll sign off for now.

Welcome to the forums, Arizona man. We tend to be pretty laid back here... so pull up a comfy chair and make yourself at home.

You're in good company, Arizona Man--there are quite a few forum members who still use and love their old manual lenses.

Based on your parting statement, it looks like you're wanting to sell some of your equipment? There is a classified section on the forum where you can put stuff up for sale. You may want to give that a try.

Anyway, welcome. I'll agree with Ron that we're a laid back bunch--lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks around here, so it's a great place to hang out.

Welcome to the forum! I've mostly gone Digital- but use my Nikon Rangefinder Lenses on a Leica.

Use most of my Nikon SLR glass on the Df.

Well, I think you're a young whippersnapper. I think I've got a few years on you (maybe that's why my bones hurt). My first Nikon was the F with the electric motor drive and a battery pack you slung over your shoulder. That thingabob never did work well at all and I soon got a Jacobson battery pack that fits onto the bottom of the F. Weighed a ton but there was nothing else out there like it. The Nikon F ruled news photography in those days. I still have a Nikon F with motor drive and Nikon battery pack. Plus four Nikkormats, a N2000, two, 2 N60s, 2 N70s and lots of truly neat Nikkor lenses. Did I mention I love Nikons? Methinks you do, too.
