I have been out of photography for a number of years, i want to get back into it now i have time and my camera is a nikon d70s. I was wondering if its work replacing the camera with a d3300?

Generally, what would i be improving on with purchasing a newer camera over one thats i purchased nearly 8 years ago?

The 3300 has vastly more resolution and image quality, as well as 3 stops more ISO sensitivity. However it will not autofocus with screw drive AF lenses (you'll need a 7000 series body for that).

The D7100 runs $700 from Nikonusa- 24MPixels and will work with the older D-Series and AF lenses. If you have any of those, worth considering.
