Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 16 April 2017, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style—just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. Come play with us in the editing exercises (and feel free to play around in the old exercises too).

P.P.S. Peter is running a fun single lens challenge that we are all invited to participate in.

Or even picture of Weasel looking uncharacteristically clean and fluffy!

Here is a photo of a statue of Nestor, the happy gardener. Nestor was gardener at Windsor castle during the reign of Victoria I.

Daughter was off for the week, took a week of from work- lots of pictures this week.

Local Skating Rink: brought the Df with the 85/1.8, 105/2.5, and 55/1.2.

Nikkor 85/1.8 (factory Ai'd, last manual focus version), at F2, 1/100th sec, ISO 10,000:

I take the Leica so often that the staff dresses for rangefinder photography.

85/1.8 at F2.8,1/250th,  ISO 6400.

Ended the week yesterday with a quiet walk around Old Town Manassas,

Leica M8 with a 1952 Jupiter-3 5cm f1.5, wide-open on the M8.

This lens was made out of two parts lenses: transplanted the glass into a 1950 Barrel that required lots of filing and polishing t get the distance between groups correct. It was simply too long to have ever worked, likely assembly practice in Russia from Zeiss parts. I get some of my cleanest 70 year old glass that way: mis-assembled means no one used it before me.

Since I skipped last week I'll add a couple this week.  First, from Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park:

I'd like to add that I miss Nicole's contributions to this weekly thread.  Thanks for keeping it going, Nicole, in spite of your other obligations.

Jerry - even though the exaggerated lines in the statue's face are a little creepy, that photo is great!

Dogbytes - love the old ruins.  I'd love to visit there one day.  Is the "weasel" a companion or just happened to be there when you were looking for subjects?

Brian - I didn't realize we were neighbors.  I'm ~40 miles from Manassas.

This is right out of camera except for downsizing.  Pretty fortunate photograph actually.  I thought I was taking too much time for composition, however I believe it came out not too shabby.  I seem to have some issues with the EXIF Data, as I do not agree with the time it reveals and also, I did not use a flash for this photograph.

This was taken with Pentax k-50 body and Takumar F 70~210mm F/4~5.6 Lens.

1/60s

F/16 (My Favorite Fighter Jet) :))

ISO @ 200

No flash and used Spot Metering.

Thanks for viewing.

Wow! You all made some fantastic images this week!

Thanks, Mark! I miss my contributions too! Just a few more days, and then....FREEDOM! Well, not complete freedom, but at least one of my time-suckers is going away (they are already asking me to teach another class this fall...hard to say no, but it will be a big no!).

Anyhow, I took a few days off work to play with my family while they were on spring break--I actually got my camera out and made some photos. I have many, many more to process, but here is one of my favorites from the week:

The ruins are great and we have quite literally, hundreds of them round here - they're old tin mine workings and most of the buildings you see are engine houses which once contained steam engines with 30" diameter pistons! The light was a bit flat that day, but hey, it is what it is.

Weasel is our second-oldest Lurcher. He's Bedlington Terrier x Whippet and is 14 years old now. Bit of a character, is Weasel!
