My combination for this week will be the D700 and 105/2.5 Ai

If anyone else wants to shoot any single lens with me for a week, feel free to post what you get in this thread.

It will be nice and comfortable to be back with the familiar 23°20' diagonal field of view. The 15°33' of a 105 on a DX sensor isn't as easy for me to previsualize, so I often have to take a step back or a step closer to frame what I want in the photo.

Well, I'm sticking with my D610 and AF-S 50/1.4

Impy was racing, this afternoon, so we went for a walk, this evening, to unwind...

The walls round here are no use to pixel peepers looking for distortion in their lenses :D

Today I will start with one especially for the cyclists among us.

gallery_1251_658_405275.jpg

Can you imagine coming up the hill camera left and encounter these setts on a tri-bike? The even worse option is coming downhill on the setts and having to negotiate the sharp turn right-hand turn where they end. Both the half IM in the autumn and the GP in May are routed this way.

#1: Cobblestones!  The scourge of all cyclists.  Good luck negotiating that stretch.

Except that they aren't cobblestones. They are setts, fortunately. Cobblestones are natural and round, setts are quarried and squarish.

Let's start with an 18-frame panorama.

Some detail studies on the artwork that surround an as-yet not filled for the summer artificial pond on the other side of the square from the school above.

Setts, we call them pavers here in Arizona.  Quite a few of us use them for driveways and walks (to and from the street)  Easier on the bones for a cyclist.

I took some shots of a few of my wifes cactus that she grows in our back yard.  D750, Nikon 105 macro lens.

Just looking at how the light plays around the house, early in the morning. Not that early, as I was out hunting with Impy until the really early hours...
