Difference between CBR, VBR 1 pass and VBR 2 pass?

Can anyone explain me the difference between CBR, VBR 1 pass and VBR 2 pass?
 
(I'm a newbie here. so don't know that whether it is a right place to ask this question)

  • CBR = constant bit rate
  • VBR = variable bit rate (more bit rate when lots of sharp motion, less with static scene)
  • 2 pass =  First pass analyses how much bit rate needed and second pass renders the video. Needs twice the time to render.
