I currently own a D7000 for about 4 years now and want to buy another DX body. The choices on my list are : D7100, D7200 or D500. Price point is of no concern as I have saved money exclusively for the purchase of a new or good used body. The glass I have is as follows: Nikkor 12-24 F4, Sigma 70-300 F4/5.6, Sigma 70-200 F2.8, Nikkor 18-105 kit lens, Nikkor 17-55 F2.8, Tamron 200-500 (No IS), Sigma Tele/Macro 400 F5.6 (No IS). All are auto focus with Image stabilization except the last two. I do event photography small, large and very large groups, sports, wildlife, landscape, concerts and events.Strobe is a SB-910. I consider myself an advanced amateur. Any advantages/disadvantages of the 7200 over the 7100 ( I like the pixel count of the 7200 as I have a photo printer that will do up to 13x17 prints). However I am drawn to the D500 because of the 10FPS, focus points and low light capabilities. Please advise me on your thoughts, experience and opinions. Thanks, Marty

From what I've read, and from what you list as your interests, I think I would go with the D500. The D7200 actually has ever so slightly better image quality but otherwise, the D500 is a much more robust camera created for professional use.

I also use a D7000 and, depending on what Nikon decides to do with their mid level FX cameras, I may end up with a D500 myself.

7200 has a way better buffer over the 7100.

D500 has a way better buffer over the 7200.

I successfully took sports shots with the 7100 for a couple of years or so, so the 7200 can do it too.

7200has slightly more pixels so slightly more cropping ability.

D500 beats the 7200 in nearly every other way, except it has the useless (to me) shooting banks, instead of the way more useful User settings, U1 and U2.
