Just joined.  Finally made the transition to digital.

Previously had Canon film cameras and some high end lenses.  With the demise of film and decent processors I decided to make the switch.  I tried to sell some of the lenses, no takers.  What a shame.

So, just today, Walmart was closing out the D 3300 kit with the VR II 18 to 55.  Got it for $262.  Could not beat the price.  The kit with the two lenses, the 55 to 200 was $499.  Better buy on the single lens kit.  I can always get extra lenses.

A belated welcome to the forums!

I suspect you posted this while your membership was still pending validation. This means that the post didn't show as new content when it was published. This is a bug in the forum software that makes an introduction easy to miss.

How old were the non-selling Canon lenses? High-end EF lenses should be easy to sell as they still work as designed on current EOS bodies. The old FD lenses are another matter, but if you find a ยต4/3 community, you should be able to find a buyer as they can be used on those bodies with an adapter.

Congratulations on getting a good starter set. The kit lens is better than the price point suggests.
