I have a D70s I want to use as a second camera for photographing the eclipse this summer.  The compact flash card reader/writer no longer works properly. Does the Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 software work with this model? I am getting conflicting messages from various sources. Any alternative ideas?

I don't know about alternative ideas but, from what I can find out on the Nikon web site, your camera is not supported by the latest version of CCP2. Strangely, the D60 is shown as being supported.

I think CCP 2.11 was the last to support the D70 and D70s.

If you use a mac, Sofortbild supports the D70s
