Hello all I will be doing a lot of outdoor pictures. My question is should I buy a hood or just shoot without a hood?

all depends on how much light you want to let in. since hood will stop some light getting in. also depends on how bright it is out side too.

A lens hood only stops stray light from hitting the front element and degrading the contrast. It doesn't affect exposure as long as it is the correct hood for the lens. There is no downside to using a lens hood.

I prefer using hood because in outdoor photography excess light is a problem for maintaining exact contrast level that I want.
