From this week onwards, I will change the format of these threads to include zooms without the limitation of using a single focal length in the hope that more members will participate. The whole idea behind the Single in... threads is to get people out and shoot more, not to frighten them off by insisting on primes only.

That said, my combination for this week will be the D700 and Nikkor 80-200/4.5 Ai'd. My sample of this classic zoom is a •C version made in 1973.

If anyone else wants to shoot any single lens with me for a week, feel free to post what you get in this thread.

Well it's the D610 for me (since it's the only one I've got!) and the last of my trio of primes - the 24mm f2.8 D. Actually I started yesterday afternoon… :D

Today, I used the 80-200 wide open at f/4.5. I will probably use it stopped down at least some to increase contrast the rest of the week.

D610, AF Nikkor 24/2.8 D

Not happy with them, even as snaps, but hey, can't be happy everyday...

Yesterday, we had spring weather. Today, we have this:

It was windy enough that the snow didn't stick on the roofs.

Even the mallards look miserable on a day like this.

I just took a few around the house, this morning. Excuse the mess, if I'd known I was going to have visitors I'd have tidied up :D Actually it's a 300 year old restoration project, so it's pretty much always a mess.

Oh yes, forgot to mention, all with the D610 and 28/2.8 D again...
