Hi there,

I want to make some videos for Youtube where I am sitting and playing my guitar.  I am not very experienced with photography but I have played around a bit with the stock lens and I get a grainy video picture with natural indoor light.  I have a couple of light boxes that I could use but I like the look of natural light.  I have tried different ISO settings but the video still looks to grainy.

Can I get a lens that might help with this?  Which lens would be good?  I'd like to keep the cost under $500.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Chris

Both Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm F1.8G and AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G will be ideal depending on which is the better focal length for your composition. They are relatively cheap, sharp, and just about the fastest DX lenses available.

One thing to keep in mind however is that the longer your focal length, and the wider your aperture, the less depth of field you will have for sharp focus.

However, if I were in your shoes, I'd work on the lighting. (c;
