My Nikon 7100 seems to have developed an autofocus problem. Photos not quite in focus, even under ideal shooting conditions.

Any ideas for a solution?

Thanks!

What lens, and did you check to make sure the lens was set to AF rather than MF? Ditto for the setting on the camera. Do you hear the AF motor when you press the shutter button? Did you, or someone else change the AF setting to Back Button AF? Are you getting a focus confirmation dot in the viewfinder? Can you focus manually and obtain sharp photos?

It is a nikon dx 55 - 300 lens. Set on AF...

Camera is on the AF-A setting.

Affirmative to your other questions...

Thanks.

The lens focuses manually OK? Do you have this problem with other lenses?
