Hi

I am looking to buy a compact camera with raw shooting capability. Also it would be good if it had a viewfinder. What is the camera with best value for money as of the beginning of 2017? Most articles I found were somewhat old.

Thanks

I've just bought a Nikon B700.  It has RAW support, viewfinder and LCD screen (great on sunny days) all manner of shooting modes and 60x optical zoom.

I believe that most if not all Nikon 1 series cameras support RAW.  Some have viewfinders and some do not.  It really depends on how you define "best" as to which would be best for YOU.

The Fuji X100 series are the best compacts out there, but they're a little pricey. Second up would be either the Panasonic (G8, GX85) or Olympus (Pen) M43 systems. I believe Panasonic has quite a good deal running on the GX85 with kit lens and a free telephoto zoom to boot.

Nikon 1's have a smaller sensor and it is looking like that will soon be a dead product line. The sensors on the point and shoots are even smaller, plus the ultrazoom glass is pretty filthy near its upper limit.

I'm probably going to get a Canon G7X II.
