My combination for this week will be the D700 and Nikkor-O 35/2 Ai'd.
If anyone else wants to shoot any single focal length with me for a week, feel free to post what you get in this thread.

I realize that you'd do anything for your art Peter but really, throwing your bike in the river? Don't you think that's a little obsessive?
--Ron
Each year, they drag between 50 and 100 bikes from the river as they make things safe for the students' raft race on the last day of April. Even though the water is deeper then, it is far from an easy task to pass this section of the river with the craft still in one piece.
Guess I'll have to take your word on that. The video you posted is blocked in the US due to copyright issues with some company called WMG.
--Ron
The people who posted it on youtube have used some Warner copyrighted music. WMG pursue their IP rights much more vigorously in the US. If you search for the words Forsränningen Uppsala on youtube or vimeo you will probably find several clips that show the craziness the students are up to each spring.
Ah, Okay... I'll check it out. BTW... I'm really enjoying the travel log on Uppsala but wondering, shouldn't there be more snow?
--Ron
A normal year, we would have around half a meter or more of snow now and the ice on the river should be about 12-15 cm, but this winter has been strange.
Today, the light was too boring to inspire at all, so I didn't take the camera out of the bag. I hope tomorrow will be better.
Yes, strange indeed. Of course here in south Florida it never really gets cold... it used to get cool though. But each year finds winters being more like spring or fall than actual winter. Today for example, it's currently 81°F and tonight it may get into the lower seventies. But enough about politics.

I'm loving your corner of the world Peter.
My first attempt at this series.
I started late this week, beginning on Wednesday. I used my D90 with my trusty 50mm 1.4 (85mm in DX)
1) Wed, Feb 08, the "Wild Mustang" statue at the entrance to the community I live in. Wild horses are very much a part of the fabric of southern Arizona.
2) Thursday, a 1940's Pullman Vista Cruiser car from the California Southern Railroad line on display at the local train depot.
3) Friday, Cows, a very important part of Arizona history. Cattle ranching is a huge economic factor in this area of the state.
4) Saturday, Pecan trees. Pecans, also an important economic factor in our area. While, being a cash crop, their farming is on the decline as they require quite a bit of water to grow. What attracted me to this grove is they get pruned to almost ghost like qualities in the fall.
Sunday, Today is the Native American Hoop Dance World Championships, so, off to downtown Phoenix to the dances.
