Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 5 February 2017, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style—just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. Come play with us in the editing exercises (and feel free to play around in the old exercises too).

P.P.S. Also check out the music inspiration challenges. Some very cool stuff going on in there!

P.P.S. Peter is running a fun single lens challenge that we are all invited to participate in.

I will start the week off with a Classic Caddie I saw parked in downtown Phoenix.  It is in excellent condition.

This evening, my aging cat was nice enough to pose for me. He is nearly 17 now.

Got to take Nikki and a friend skating this week.

Nikkor 8.5cm F2, wide-open at 1/45th on the M9. ISO2500. This is my favorite lens for shooting skating. Not just the speed and focal length, but also long-throw focus.

50/1.1 Nokton, wide-open at 1/30th. ISO2500

Nikon made a 5cm F1.1 Nikkor-N in S-Mount and Leica mount. The Nokton used here is about 1/5th the price.

For this one I went to my trusty Pentax k100d Super with a Takumar F 70~210mm f/4~5.6 Lens.

1/90s,f/4, ISO@200, no flash and used Pattern Metering.  Thanks so much for viewing.

I recieved the relacement for my suicidal K30 4 days ago. It came just in time for a tractor pull at the local universaty. I am still making adjustments to where i want all the settings to be, My D200 is acting up a bit last night so I need to spend some time to figure out if I can get it working correctly or if it needs to be replaced as well. I hope not I do so like it.

Taken with Pentax K-S2

UPDATE figured out the issue with the D200.  It had been switched to AFC somehow . Evidently AFC does not like low light and unconfirmed focus. Switched it back to AFS and I can shoot out of focus in low light all I want. LOL

"suicidal K30"--that made me laugh.

Wonderful work this week. I'm still having computer issues at home and can only jump on the forums briefly while at work, so I'm participating very minimally these days.

This will probably be my last deliberate still life for awhile...I don't know. We'll see. Used natural light on this one--south-facing window light with a scrim leaning over the subject and a white card on the left.

What the heck...a couple more from the same shoot...

With candle and a black card on the left:

With a white card on the left and a large softbox behind as a kicker light for the bird:

All D810, 105mm.

Hope you are all well!
