I have a Nikkor 50mm 1.2 lens that needs to be checked out. I am pretty sure it's from the early 80's. It was my dad's lens off of an F3.

It's not focusing correctly for me on my D750. The manual focus confirmation with the lens is slightly off making it pretty hard to get clean shots with it. I have good vision but I can't just focus with my eye. Credit to you guys out there who can. Maybe I'll be able to one day!! I tried a new/the same 50mm 1.2 lens the other day and the focusing is fine with it on my D750. Seems like its a lens issue and not the body.

Nikon has expressed to me numerous times that they don't offer service for this lens any more so they are no longer an option. Their customer service is another discussion ; )

Can anyone recommend a good resource for lens repair, tune-ups, etc? This is a special lens for me so I am really looking for a reputable company to work with. Thanks.

I haven't heard anything negative about Camera Service in Smyrna, GA. They are an independent Nikon accredited workshop.

Best Camera repair and service in Atlanta! Camera repair near me? It's us!

Try some shots with liveview, of a brick wall or fence slats. An element knocked out of alignment will show up in such pictures.

Post some shots of the lens, with a light shining through the back. Haze/dirt will show up in the shots.
