My daughter, as part of her Marine Biology course, is going to Bermuda in March, and wants an underwater camera. Finance is limited. Last year I bought her a Coolpix S8200 for her trip to Iceland, but it does not allow her to set Aperture priority, so she was a little disappointed. (I was not prepared to lend her my D90 in case it got damaged).

She is looking at buying either the Nikon Coolpix AW110 , the Olympus TG-2, or the underwater case for the S8200, and all available at around $280 to £320.

She will be diving on the reefs so the 18m and 15m depth limit of the AW110 and TG-2 don't present too much problem (the underwater case for the S8200 goes down to 40m).

The Olympus TG-2 has an f2 lens, and macro capability, so at the moment is her favourite choice

Does anyone have experience of underwater photography and can offer their advice?
